Hello, sincerely.
My name is Caleb Alexander. I have been writing for entire life, mostly as a way to cope with myself. My thoughts tend to spiral, and putting pen to paper (or qwerty to screen) has been my go-to strategy for as long as I can remember. I wasn’t always the biggest fan of myself – still give my reflection a side-eye on occasion… but, anyway, I’ve been writing for a long time. You wouldn’t know it because I tend to stop just short of the follow-through. I did write and stage a play in 2015, which was a wonderful experience for me and my amazing group of actors. But we’re not here to talk about that.
‘The Space Between’ is a story that I have had in my head since I was nine-years-old. It was the first book I ever wrote. Back then, it was entitled ‘The Wanderer: Chronicles of Peace and Destiny’. I only got as far as the first installment. This grand, original, and epic fantasy series has been living rent free in my head for more than two decades. To put it in extremely cliched terms, this story is my White Whale.
Today, I am a father and a husband, and I hope to maintain those titles for many years to come. For awhile, my title as a “writer” took a backseat. But I have recently been feeling a sense of capability to reacquaint myself to this old familiar cope. And I cannot think of a better story to re-embark on than this one, now titled ‘The Space Between Blood & Magic’.
I love stories. I love storytelling.
My hope for this space is that it motivates me to see my oldest muse explored in entirety. So, for those that are reading this, thank you for the support.
All the best,
Caleb J. Alexander
